Save Me a Dream

Over at Terra Park by the concrete/cement benches, you can find yourself sitting and
maybe catching some dreams… I found this just a while back and I find it too amusing
not to post.
I call it the Dreamcatcher Trellis at Terra Park on 28th Avenue Bonifacio Global City.
Parks are a’plenty at BGC – I believe it is in the grand design of the city to have as
many “breathing” spaces between the high-rise buildings.

Check out the Shack!

One of the latest additions to the list of fast food franchises in Bonifacio Global City is Shake Shack.
It opened May 2019 and has been growing its customers since. And other
branches have also opened in the Metro.
They serve Burgers (must try is the ‘Shroom Burger), Fries, MUST TRY! Frozen Custard and Shake. If you are a meat lover, particularly Angus Beef – this food joint is a must visit on your list.  There is something for everybody in the Shake Shack menu.
At BGC, Shake Shack is at Central Square!

Real Property Tax Discount

My agenda this week is to pay real property taxes for 2020! Yes friends I make it a point to avail of the 20% discount for early bird payments.  The discount is good till the last working day of 2019 — December 27!

For Bonifacio Global City, head on to the 9th Floor of the SM Corporate Tower beside SM Aura for the satellite office of the Taguig City Government. Don’t forget to bring your previous/old real property tax receipt with you.

And guess what?!? They give away cute and yummy cookies for early bird tax payers!

Flood-free BGC

So it is “stay-indoors” time anew with Typhoon Tisoy bringing winds and rains. Watching the rain from my condominium unit window in Bonifacio Global City, it made me wonder why it doesn’t get flooded in Taguig’s premier city? Well, except for what happened at a mall (which happens to be at a low area)BGC remains to be flood free.

I did a little research and I found out that under Burgos Circle is what makes BGC unique – there is a cistern 21meters (70feet) deep!!! The catch basin flows to the Pasig River and Manila Bay.

What is also good to note is that since 2017 the local government has implemented measures to control flooding around the Taguig.  As the country is blest with sun, heat (well lately quakes) and torrential  rains, it is assuring to know that BGC has put in place that cistern for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

Christmas Trees Galore at High Street

What I like about the Christmas season in the country is that it becomes an annual time to show off creativity! Take for instance the lanterns – various materials – indigenous to high tech infused with lights… world-class.

With the Christmas trees as well — adorned with balls to colorful trimmings to using real pine trees or something unique.  Havaianas, used their flip-flop sandals and colored them silver and gold to come up with a very festive tree. Thumbs up to that!

Christmas Scenes at BGC

Found a lovely holiday spot at Bonifacio Global City — One Serendra Garden and Open Spaces. The well-maintained trellis is adorned by white branches and the addition of the poinsettias really make one hum “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.”

The nativity scene completes the season’s celebration and as Jose Mari Chan sings it… “Lead us back to the manger where Christ the child was born.”

Flowers... Nature's Gift of Joy

The saying, “Stop and smell the flowers,” is to put it simply is to pause a bit to enjoy life.  The flowers for me are nature’s gift of joy to all of us.  There are flowers we can enjoy year-round like roses and daisies.  There are annual bloomers that last for a month or two just like the poinsettia.  Widely used during the Christmas season because of its unique red and green foliage.

“Horti Filipina” a Pre-Christmas Garden Show takes us closer to flowers and greens.  It is happening until the 27th of November at the Bonifacio High Street Activity Center (Papa Bear).

Sculptures at BGC II

It is so nice to walk around Bonifacio Global City’s business district. Well-appropriated art are a’plenty.

In this post we show the works of:
Ovvian Castrillo Hill called “Path to Prosperity” which according to the marker… “represents the ascent of the Philippine stock market and how this has created propserity and wealth for the Filipino.”
BenHur G. Villanueva and his installation called “Ang Supremo.” It is as a three piece sculpture representation of the KKK — it features Andres Bonifacio = the father of the Philippine Revolution, Gerogoria de Jesus – the wife of Bonifacio, and a member of the Katipunan holding a bamboo spear.

Living Kindly at BGC

From VegFest Pilipinas Organizers

“Live Kindly For The Community,” is the theme of the 2019 VegFest Pilipinas. Happening on Nov 16-17 at BGC Arts Center from 8am to 10pm.

Personally I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian, but I do support a zero-waste lifestyle. Living at Bonifacio Global City influenced much that mindset and
attitude. Take for instance on food choices. I purchase only what I can consume. Perhaps I will learn more at the VegFest... See you there.
