So it is “stay-indoors” time anew with Typhoon Tisoy bringing winds and rains. Watching the rain from my condominium unit window in Bonifacio Global City, it made me wonder why it doesn’t get flooded in Taguig’s premier city? Well, except for what happened at a mall (which happens to be at a low area)BGC remains to be flood free.

I did a little research and I found out that under Burgos Circle is what makes BGC unique – there is a cistern 21meters (70feet) deep!!! The catch basin flows to the Pasig River and Manila Bay.

What is also good to note is that since 2017 the local government has implemented measures to control flooding around the Taguig.  As the country is blest with sun, heat (well lately quakes) and torrential  rains, it is assuring to know that BGC has put in place that cistern for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
