THE TREES by Reynato Paz Contreras is located at Burgos Circle.\u00a0 Contreras’ message \u201cMay this sculptural piece remind everyone of the need to preserve the environment to sustain life and development not just today but for the future as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

ALAB NG PUSO (Fire in the Heart) by sculptor Daniel de la Cruz is a tribute to the Filipino soldier.\u00a0 The steel panel displays Lupang Hinirang.\u00a0 The national anthem’s lyrics were adapted from the Spanish poem Filipinas<\/i>, written by Jos\u00e9 Palma in 1899.<\/p>\n

I like the theme of this sculpture – the soldier reading a letter apparently from his family which gives credence to the traditional values of God, Country, Family.<\/p>\n

You can find Alab ng Puso between 3rd and 5th Avenues on Bonifacio High Street.<\/p>\n

PASASALAMAT by Ferdinand Cacnio.<\/p>\n

Along Rizal Drive and 3rd Ave on Bonifacio High Street you will find the fishermen.\u00a0 According to Cacnio, the sculpture is “Two human figures pause in the middle of the banca, holding up their fishing net, heavy with a bountiful harvest, solemnly thanking God and surrendering everything to Him.\u201d<\/p>\n
